Storage Calculator
This storage calculator tool provides the on-board / in-car recording
duration for the RoadRunnerâ„¢ system prior to overwrite.
Please note:
- The overall recording rate will determine how fast the drive is filled, regardless of the number of attached cameras. For example: A recording rate of 30ips on 1 camera = 15ips on 2 cameras
- The calculations listed are based on recording 24 hours per day; most applications record considerably fewer hours each day.
- These calculations are based on CIF resolution (352x240) setting. To calculate recording durations at 2CIF (704x240) resolution, divide the total number of hours by 2. To calculate recording durations at 4CIF (704x480) resolution (MRH series only), divide the total number of hours by 4. The maximum recording rate at specific resolution settings vary based on the model, please refer to the technical DVR specifications for details.
- The calculator below can be used to calculate the recording time of any DVR, simply adjust the Quality/File Size and Disk Size according to the manufacturer's specifications.
- MR2, MR4 and MR8 DVRs feature a maximum recording rate of 120ips at CIF; 60ips at 2CIF.
- MRH4 DVRs feature a maximum recording rate of 120ips at CIF; 120ips at 2CIF and 60 ips at 4 CIF
- MRH8 DVRs feature a maximum recording rate of 240ips at CIF; 120ips at 2CIF and 60ips at 4CIF
- MRH12 and MRH16 DVRs feature a maximum recording rate of 480ips at CIF; 240ips at 2CIF and 120ips at 4CIF
Drives are currently available in 2.0TB, 1.0TB, 500GB and 250GB
